MPC

The Multi-Purpose Center, located at 1900 W. 41st Avenue, is a year-round facility serving all of Calumet Township, which includes Gary, Griffith and the adjoining unincorporated area.  A variety of programs and services are offered to the residents of Calumet Township.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

The Calumet Township Trustee Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provides state certified ambulance services 7 days a week, 365 days a year, primarily to the residents of the unincorporated area adjoining Gary and Griffith.

EMERGENCY SHELTER

Natural disasters, residential fires or evictions can create a need for temporary emergency shelter.  The MPC is equipped to provide temporary emergency shelter primarily to homeless women with children.  Emergency shelter is also afforded homeless men under certain adverse circumstance.  The shelter has sleeping quarters, laundry facilities, kitchen, lockers for personal items and barrier-free restrooms available. During their stay, shelter staff assist clients in identifying other social services available in the area.  Shelter rules, which include a ban on all forms of substance abuse, are strictly enforced.

HALL RENTAL

If your civic or community group is in need of a convenient, attractive and affordable hall, be sure to remember the Calumet Township Trustee Multi-Purpose Center. The spacious meeting rooms are comfortably designed to seat up to 300 persons. Every MPC rental contract affords:
